The properties of Aluminium
THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY
Among all metals, Aluminium excels for its high thermal conductivity, which allows for example to save large amounts of energy to reach the cooking temperature of food. In addition to that, Aluminium spreads heat evenly through bottom and walls of the cookware, avoiding localized overheating during cooking. Homogenous cooking of meat and food in general is fundamental for the preservation of its nutritional and organoleptic properties.
LOW WEIGHT AND HIGH MANAGEABILITY
The aluminum weighs about 1/3 of the water and about 1/4 of the copper and therefore the same size of the pots are extremely light and easy to handle both during cooking and during cleaning.
HIGH MECHANICAL SOLIDITY
In this regard, it is enough to think that aluminum alloys are the basis of aeronautical constructions, so this metal, although lightweight, is extremely reliable.
GHA® is the most innovative technology applicable to the surfaces of all aluminum alloys (light alloys), consists of a special anodic oxidation treatment with a programmable thickness of 1 to 100 μm, followed by sealing of microporosity by ion of Silver (Ag +).
The high hardness of anodic oxide, HV 500-550, combined with the extraordinary properties of silver ions, give the treated surface biotechnological properties of extreme interest (see Table 2), ranging from the pharmaceutical and Food to the technical and scientific ones:
COMMON USES
– Industrial machine components
– Automotive components
– Office machine components
– Cooking elements
– House elements
– Electronic components
– Thermal radiators
– Air conditioning filters
Notice that the treatment layer, with a thickness ranging from 1 to 100 μm, is unremovable because the anode oxides form directly on the surface of the piece, which is the anode, generating an oxidized layer that for about 50% diffuses inside and for the other 50% increases on the surface.
Properties of Silver Ag + ions
- High antibacterial and antimildew (bacteriostatic)
- Low coefficient of friction, self lubrication and wear resistance
- Corrosion resistance
- High thermal conductivity and high thermodynamic performance
- Electrical and anti-static conductivity
- Ability of absorbing heat and re-storing it through ultra-infrared waves
Biotechnologic Features | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Material | Hardness HV | Fusion | Friction | Corrosion | Usury |
Aluminium | 70÷100 | 680°C | 0,44 | 100 hour | 102 hour |
G.H.A.® | 500÷550 | 2100°C | 0,025 | 10.000 hour | 105 hour |
Hard Oxide | 500÷550 | 2100°C | 0,15 | 200÷500 hour | 103 hour |
GHA® treatment is also extremely cheap, because it uses Silver, noble and expensive material, but in an atomic phase, small and homogeneously distributed, particularly effective because the Ag + ion is always ready to interact by giving the listed properties.
